Card Making / Christmas Cards

Well, I know it's been quite a while since my last post. With Christmas is around the corner, I made a couple of Christmas cards, though we don't celebrate Christmas in Taiwan. It's a good excuse to make some season's greeting projects.

The first card was inspired by a project I saw from danipeuss. I punched out 3 stars from a red pattern paper, and layered it with a tiny polka dot pattern paper, cut in the shape of a banner.

This card is very clean and simple.

I put some glossy accent on the berries to add some glow.

I like red. It's so holiday-y and bright and cheer. It matches Christmas so well. But mint is one of my favorite colors, and I want to use the color on my card but keep it to the holiday celebration. So here's what I came up with.

My second card was started off with a background paper. I used mint watercolor on a watercolor paper, I did a little bit ombre effect, set aside to let dry.

Since my watercolor was on my desk, I cut a piece of cardstock, stamped Peace, Joy, Love with VersaMark ink and white embossed it. And then I brushed red watercolor on the stamped greeting.

After the background paper was dry, I stamped randomly with some Christmas trees using Cozy Christmas stamp set from Ellen Hutson with VersaMark ink. White embossed. I also stamped it with white pigment ink to fill in the spaces in between.

I died cut 3 little houses with the matching dies from Cozy Christmas by Ellen Hutson.  Put some snow-tex and dusted with glitter. I also died cut 2 deer from a gold cardstock. And then assembled my card.

When I saw this Santa sticker, I knew I have to made a card with that adorable image! And when I made my third card, I thought why not put red and mint and gold together!

I wrote HO HO HO with red watercolor onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. And then I stuck the Santa and presents sticker onto a piece of white crafting foam, fussy cut them out.

I then stamped Merry from Very Merry stamp set by Neat and Tangled, with VersaMark ink and used sticky embossing powder. I heat embossed the image and sprinkled with gold glitter by Heidi Swapp.

The sticky embossing powder was not working as well as I thought, so I used a glue pen to fill in the gaps where needed so that the glitter can stay properly.
And then I fussy cut the word out.

I have to admit that it was the most difficult part of this card. XD

Finally, I used mint stripe washi tape and gold star washi to decorate the card. Finishing with some gold sequins.

Hope you like these cards!
